a quick timeline
1999 - JP begins classical piano lessons.
2005 - On his 13th birthday, JPH buys drum set and subsequently starts middle-school band with close friends. They play “Sweet Home Alabama” at the school variety show.
2007 - JP buys acoustic guitar from a close friend and joins high school groups as a guitar player.
2010 - JP attends Brown University and studies counterpoint, composition, and jazz theory on top of a major in European Intellectual History.
2013 - JP begins playing regular circuit of campus frat parties with band The Spicy Withs.
2014 - JP self-produces first EP in university’s recording studio through several all-night sessions. Following graduation, he spends 3 months in Berlin.
2015 - First Opera (EP) is released. JP plays release show with his band at The Bowery Electric in NYC.
2016 - The self-titled John Paris (EP) is recorded in Bunker Studio in Brooklyn and is released later that year. JP plays follow-up shows at The Bitter End and Arlene’s Grocery in NYC.
2017 - JP relocates to Berlin.
2018 - JP plays a host of Berlin rock clubs with new band and dives into the city’s street music scene.
2020 - JP returns to the USA and relocates to Nashville.
2021 - JP builds a new band and plays shows around Nashville, with weekend tours to Altanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, and other cities.
2022 - JP relocates to Charleston, SC, and begins playing a regular weekly rotation of local bar/brewery gigs.
2024 - JP records new album in Nashville recording studio Rukkus Room, and takes a performance hiatus.
2026 - JP relocates to Prague, Czech Republic indefinitely.
